Chinese-Americans are the largest group of Asian immigrants in the United States and has, over the years, made significant contributions to this country: from building the Transcontinental Railway in the 1800's, to prominence in today’s fields of science, sports, business, politics and academia.  According to Census 2000, there are about two millions Chinese and eleven millions Asian and Pacific Islanders in this country. About 75,000 Chinese-Americans resides in Florida.

The "United Chinese Association of Florida" (UCAF), established in 2003, UCAF is a 501(c)3
not-for-profit community-based organization founded by a group of young, enthusiastic and hard-working Chinese-Americans from diverse professional background. Many of our key staff members are actively involved in numerous community events: Asian Culture Festivals, Census 2000, Chinese New Year Festivals, the First Fort Lauderdale Dragon Boat and Buskers Festival, Florida Immigration Welfare Summits, Asian Pacific Film Festivals, Minority Business Development Center "MED Week" Events.

UCAF's mission is to enhance the harmony of this diverse society, through the sponsorship of social, cultural and educational activities.  Membership for the United Chinese Association of Florida is open to everybody and every ethnicity. We welcome all who are interested to share and help us build a better community in Florida.

SFDBF is South Florida Dragon Boat Festival -- a two-day Asian cultural festival that brings together the entire South Florida community for a cultural experience that promotes harmony and understanding among people of all ages, diverse ethnicities and backgrounds.

The SFDBF is to deliver a first class dragon boat race festival accessible to all that come together and to contribute to our diverse community through team building, charitable fund raising and a cross cultural experience that is fun for everyone.
