Volunteer Registrations now being accepted
It is because of the dedication of volunteers that the South Florida Dragon Boat Festival will be All volunteers will receive an event shirt, meal and beverages. Don't miss out on this opportunity to be part of an amazing event! The 2007 South Florida Dragon Boat Festival needs more than (200) volunteers to produce the two-day event. Please sign up for as many shifts as possible. We promise you will have a great time! Once you have submitted your volunteer registration, a SFDBF representative will contact you regarding your status, assignment and scheduling. By submitting this registration, you are indicating that you have read and agree to the 2007 Volunteer Program Information (as shown below). Attendance We depend on your commitment to participate. Your presence and prompt arrival for your scheduled Arrival You must check in at the Volunteer Check-In Headquarters at the T-shirt Every volunteer receives the Official SFDBF T-shirt with a minimum of one four-hour shift. This shirt Training All volunteers, new and returning, are requested to read the Volunteer Handbook that will be sent Meals and beverage Each volunteer will be offered pre-package meal after completing one four-hour shift. Beverages are available at Volunteer Check-In Headquarters. Volunteer Certificates For services at SFDBF, each volunteer will receive a Certificate of Appreciation, and all high school volunteers will receive a letter of volunteer hours. For more information To get involved as a volunteer, please fill up the Volunteer application and fax or email it to our office, Committee Information Dragon Boat Races Volunteers will assist with Team Registration, team loading and offloading boats, assist on the Dragonland - Children's Area Volunteers will assist with the set up and production of the children's area including onsite management during the event. Festival Ambassadors/Information Booth Volunteers will offer information and the Program Guide to our guests; distribute and collect attendee surveys. Gateway to Asia - Cultural Unity Stage - Cultural Demonstration Area The goal of this area is to promote cultural unity through “entertainment” of a wide array of cultural performances and presentations. Volunteers will serve as extra stage hands and performer liaison. Volunteers are needed to set up and take down the area, as well as assist the demonstrations Marketplace Manager: April Chang Volunteers will assist the food vendors and exhibitors at the event, conduct surveys and evaluations. Production Volunteers will assist with the setup of signs, banners, tables, chairs and more on Friday and Saturday. During cleanup on Sunday evening, volunteers will help take down signs/banners, remove décor Public Safety This committee manages all areas of public safety including parking and traffic control. Volunteers will assist at bus shuttle locations (Sloan’s Lake Park), parking lots and throughout the park. Volunteer Coordination Manager: Tommy Lam Volunteers will assist with check-in, assignments, and offering breaks to volunteers. |
